Meet Mandy
My name is Mandy Finan and I was born into a long line of horsemen. I have been riding for over 50 years, training for over 45, and teaching people to really savvy horses for over 40 years. Horses are my passion. I have a relaxed, fun teaching style where you are often learning things by playing great games. You usually don’t even realize that you are working because you are playing! I will challenge you but won’t push you to the point of fear. After all, this is supposed to be fun, right? If you are getting fearful, I will work with you to gain the skills needed to clear away the fear. I teach all ages from diapers to dentures. I teach you what you want to learn whether it is simply to ride and safely handle a horse or to train. You can learn everything from how to halter a horse to teaching one to lie down. Learn to trailer load your horse while sitting on the fender of your horse trailer. Teach your horse to catch you and never chase a horse again! You can’t outrun him anyway, why try? Get him to catch you!
I will teach you what you need to know to own a horse. I will help you pick out a horse or give you the tools necessary to select the right horse. Learn to read your horse so you can fix what is going to happen before it happens. Learn the parts of a horse, common illnesses, deworming programs, conformation, hoof angles, telling how old they are by their teeth, understand feeds and different hays. Learn how different bits work, how to select the right tack, fitting the tack to you and your horse, and how to do tack repairs. It doesn’t matter if you ride English, Western, Dressage, or bareback, this works! It makes you and your horse smarter, calmer and braver by using Natural Horsemanship! (Check out the page on Natural Horsemanship to learn more!)
I have a few openings for students.
Contact me to watch a lesson or to sign up for a lesson. My email is [email protected] and my phone number is 727-434-0802.
